Third generation pie shop wanted to expand

Pieman is a family owned business and has been in the family for three generations. Stephen wanted to establish Pieman as a famous Australian brand and make it a multi franchise brand. At the time of this vision, they had delicious pies (seriously, if you’re in Brisbane give them a try) but no one knew who they were, they had inconsistent sales and were reliant on walk-ins.

Marketing assets had to be built from scratch

They didn’t have a website, their Google Business accounts weren’t optimized and they weren’t posting frequently on social media. They had no visibility in their local area, which explained why they had inconsistent sales. A lot of work had to be done, and fast for their franchise dreams to become a reality.

How we did it

Website Design

We built their website to build trust and showcase the menu which showed the delicious food they had on offer. This was the foundation of their marketing.


As they had a brand name that was fairly common, we optimised their websites SEO so that their website would show when people searched for their name.

Facebook campaign

We ran a special offer which over 200 people signed up to. The offer led to immediate traction with 70 becoming customers. No more reliance on walk-ins!

Email marketing

We created a VIP club for customers to join which built their customer database. It gave them the ability to reach out to their customers using a reliable channel.

Google Business

We got them to the top Google Map ranking for ‘pies’ in their suburbs by creating an automated system to get the customer reviews Google loves to see, and adding amazing photos of their locations.
